Fundamentals of Instructor Training
Description:
This course replaces the Instructor Candidate Training course and is required for all Red Cross instructor candidates and must be completed prior to starting the specialty courses. The purpose of this course is to introduce instructor candidates to the history, structure and activities of the American Red Cross, to prepare instructor candidates to teach American Red Cross courses to diverse populations, and to introduce instructor candidates to the policies and procedures of the American Red Cross to ensure course consistency, quality and appropriate training.

FA/CPR/AED Instructor Course
The purpose of this First Aid/CPR/AED Program Instructor Course is to train individuals to teach the First Aid/CPR/AED Program courses and modules. This course will allow you to teach the following courses: Workplace Training: Standard First Aid; Workplace Training: Standard First Aid with AED; First Aid; Adult CPR/AED; Adult CPR; AED Essentials; Infant and Child CPR; Infant CPR; Child CPR

Prerequisite: Must be at least 17 years of age by the end of the course; possess a current American Red Cross Fundamentals Instructor Training (FIT) certificate or a current instructor certificate in another American Red Cross Health and Safety Services course; upon successfully completing the precourse session, basic level certificates will be issued. Attendance at all sessions is required

Precourse Session - The first scheduled meeting of each First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Course is the precourse session, during which you will be tested on skills and knowledge. (Upon successful completion of the precourse session basic level certificates will be issued). To continue the instructor course it is necessary to pass written tests as well as skills demonstrations. Since all testing is based on the ECC 2000 standards, we strongly suggest that you take a basic level course(s) which includes First Aid, CPR, and AED skills.
