The American Red Cross Needs You
The American Red Cross is
the nation’s most recognized voluntary humanitarian organization in the
world. It is through the assistance and dedication of our volunteers
that we help our neighbors prevent, prepare for, and respond to
emergencies. When you join us, you will
be welcomed as a friend. We can tailor your volunteer work to match your
interests and availability.
Residents of 15 communities make up our volunteer workforce.
Volunteers help the Red Cross fulfill its mission by providing
emergency assistance for disaster victims, teaching health and safety
courses, staffing blood drives, driving patients to medical
appointments, and participating in our special events which help us
raise funds so that we may continue to provide vital services in our
community. |

How can I become a Red Cross volunteer? |

Blood
(Give Life) |
Red
Cross is the sole supplier of blood in Connecticut hospitals. Help at
blood drives by becoming a receptionist, serving refreshments, or
providing general assistance. |

Disaster
Relief |
|
When
a disaster strikes, such as a home fire or a
large flood, the Red Cross is there providing
assistance. Become trained in: |
